Medeama have partnered with the International Development Academy (IDA) to create a global education and career pathway for the club’s youth players.

This partnership marks the first time the US-based organisation has collaborated with a Ghanaian club, making Medeama its first fully professional club partner.

The partnership aims to provide the Ghanaian champions’ academy players with access to high-level training and competition in Europe, as well as direct pathways into European academies and the US collegiate system.

This will help expand Medeama’s brand globally and offer opportunities for the club’s players to compete in high-level tournaments, participate in talent identification clinics, and embark on international tours.

Director of Camps and Short-Term Programmes at IDA, Ben Poulton, expressed his enthusiasm for working with Medeama, citing the rich history of Ghanaian football and the potential for growth and success.

Medeama president Moses Armah shared his excitement for the partnership, wishing both parties good luck and expressing gratitude for the opportunity.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with IDA for the next few years. I wish us all the best of luck and a flourishing partnership that sees our deal extended further. We are again extremely grateful to IDA for this opportunity and the accomplishment it will bring,” he said.

The partnership is expected to greatly benefit Medeama, with the U-15 and U-17 sides set to participate in the Surf Cup International in Morocco this summer.
