Despite a spirited effort from Newport County with goals from Bryan Morris and Will Evans, Antony and Rasmus Hojlund secured the win for Manchester United, with Hojlund’s goal sealing the deal in stoppage time.
Highlighting the importance of every cup win, Mainoo emphasized the team’s collective mindset, especially when Newport County drew level after being two goals down. He explained, “Back to basics. We have great players who can create goals at any time, so when we go 2-2, it is never really a panic. It’s just getting back to the things we are good at.
