Thomas Partey drops hint about Arsenal future

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed he is yet to decide his future with Arsenal, as his current deal expires at the end of June.

Since arriving from Atlético Madrid in 2020, Partey has been a key figure for the Gunners, though frequent injuries hampered his first three seasons.

The 2024/25 campaign, however, was his most consistent in North London where he featured in 35 league matches and, by his own admission, “felt at my best every time I stepped onto the pitch.”

In an exclusive interview with 3Sports, the 31-year-old said:

“People are talking about my availability because I was fit all season. Every training session, every match, I gave my best. Injuries are part of the game, but this year I felt great.”

Reports suggest Arsenal have opened talks over a one-year extension, yet Partey insists no decision has been made.

“The most important thing is being happy where you play. At this stage of my career, my next move must balance ambition, family, and security. I’m an Arsenal fan too, but it’s up to the club, my agent, and me to decide. For now, I just want to enjoy my football.”

Arsenal have already released Jorginho and are reportedly pursuing Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi, a move that could create a midfield trio of Zubimendi, Declan Rice, and Partey if the Ghanaian signs on.

Since joining Arsenal, Partey has made 130 appearances and scored nine goals.

Gunners supporters will watch keenly over the coming weeks to see whether he commits his future to the Emirates or embarks on a new chapter elsewhere.
