UNSUNG Artiste Unveiled

A nominee for this year’s Unsung Artiste category at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, TsaQa has said that the competition was between himself and fellow dancehall artiste, DSL.

TsaQA, who made these very bold claims when he showed up on the 3FM Drive with AJ Sarpong on Wednesday, believes that the other nominees did not have what it takes to win the Unsung Artiste category.

“The Awards is between Hitz music and Lynx entertainment but the artiste competition is between Tsaqa and DSL,” he pointed out.

According to the Dancehall act, he had put in the hard work that has brought him to the current level, hence why he deserved the Unsung Award.

“All the rest should go back to bed. We’ve worked hard so we deserve it. All the rest I don’t see what they’re doing,” a very serious Tsaqa announced “I am not here to beat around the bush, I came to say it as it is. Even the Lynxx entertainment boss knows we’ve worked.”

Reacting to the assertion that the competition was a two-man game, DSL, a former Mentor X winner said the two were good but every nominee was a potential threat to his success at the 24th VGMAs

“I feel Tsaqa is my competition considering the genre we both find ourselves in but I believe anyone in that category is also a real threat because it doesn’t take only the music but hardwork and the votes to win it,” he told AJ Sarpong.

The Unsung Artiste award is a Charterhouse initiative with sponsorship from Closeup Complete Fresh Protection. It recognizes and rewards emerging Ghanaian musicians for their hard work and dedication to their music and provides them with a platform to reach a wider audience.

This year’s nominees include DSL, TsaQa, Niashun, Maya Blu, Aya Ramzy B and Boi Jake.
