West Ham secured a 4-2 victory over Brentford, ending their winless streak, with Mohammed Kudus showcasing his playmaking skills by providing an assist to hat-trick hero Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham, having not won a game in 2024 before Monday night, responded emphatically as they took a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes. Bowen opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a strike that found the net off the post, followed by another goal two minutes later as he slotted in Vladimir Coufal’s pass.

Although Neal Maupay quickly pulled one back for Brentford, the Bees’ claims for a penalty were waved away after a challenge by Kudus on Sergio Reguilon.

The match remained tense as Brentford threatened to level, but Bowen secured his hat-trick with a header from Kudus’ cross, easing the nerves of the Hammers’ fans.

Emerson sealed the victory with a spectacular strike from 25 yards, making it 4-1 for West Ham. Despite a late goal from Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, it was not enough to deny the hosts the crucial win.

The victory propelled West Ham to eighth place in the Premier League, breaking an eight-game winless streak and easing the pressure on manager David Moyes.

Moyes addressed media speculation about his position, stating, “It’s probably getting pushed more by the media than anyone else. We’re all happy to wait until closer to the end of the season.”

Mohammed Kudus has now contributed to eight goals (six goals and two assists) in the Premier League in his debut season with West Ham, showcasing his impact since joining from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer.
