Aduana FC secured a crucial victory against Legon Cities, catapulting them back to the second spot in the Ghana Premier League table.

The Ogya boys, coming off a setback against FC Samartex in their previous game, bounced back with a decisive 11th-minute goal by Bright Adjei.

The encounter proved challenging, with Legon Cities, led by former Aduana FC coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, resiliently resisting further attempts by Aduana to increase their lead.

Despite their efforts to level the score, Legon Cities ultimately suffered a narrow defeat at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, now sitting in 12th place after failing to secure a victory in their last four games.

In other fixtures, relegation-threatened Heart of Lions secured a late victory over Real Tamale United, courtesy of goals from Ebenezer Abban and Akwasi Mahama. Meanwhile, Bechem United rebounded from two consecutive defeats with a 1-0 triumph over league leaders Samartex, and Bibiani Gold Stars dominated Great Olympics with a commanding 3-0 win.

Promoted side Nations FC and defending champions Medeama SC settled for a 1-1 draw at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, while Nsoatreman suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Dreams FC.

The ongoing drama in the 20th round of the Ghana Premier League will conclude with an eagerly anticipated clash between Hearts of Oak and Bofoakwa Tano on Monday. Hearts of Oak aims to avenge their earlier defeat against the same opponents during the first round of the competition.
