The two nominations came from the 7th Adonko RTP Awards and the Institute of Media Practice (IMP) respectively. This follows an intense display of result-oriented and selfless service to numerous testimony-laden communities across Ghana, through the power of radio and television. The ‘Bonafide Genius’, as he is also known, has been a torch bearer in community rights advocacy, particularly in the area of health, education, sanitation, security, social protection, issues of women, children and the vulnerable in society, among others, through his radio programme Community Connect. “These nominations are a confirmation that our hard work on Community Connect and TV3 New Day is appreciated by industry watchers,” an elated Johnnie said. “To this end, we will not stop learning, nor will we cease paying attention to detail and remaining professional to help solve society’s challenges.” The gifted broadcaster continues to maintain a firm foothold in his new-found niche as Ghana’s favourite television morning man while making his name synonymous with solution-based community rights advocacy on radio.
