Hundreds of constituents in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency in the Ashanti Region participated in the maiden edition of Akoma FM’s Constituency Watch outdoor event.
The event, which is an offshoot of the GhanAkoma morning show, affords the electorates a platform to engage political leaders on their developmental needs.
Show host Kofi Asante Ennin put the spotlight on politics of development with the New Patriotic Party’s Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, Emmanuel Agyie Anhwere, and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate Derek Owusu Boateng.
Others on the show were former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya Nana Asare Bediako and the current MCE for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Amoah Awuku.
Supporters of the various political interests flooded the Abuakwa venue of the event to chant party campaign songs in a charged atmosphere.
Many asked for a lot more of such events to enable them access their leaders ahead of the December 7 polls.
“This show is one in a million,” said one constituent, “I really love the resource persons and how the show is carved for we the electorates.
“We can’t wait for another outdoor programme to be held here. We are loving Akoma FM for such initiative, we want more of them.”
The Constituency Watch train makes a stop in one constituency at a time as the December 7 general elections draw closer.
