World Cup play-off: VAR installed at Baba Yara Stadium for Ghana-Nigeria clash

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system has successfully installed at the Baba Yara Stadium for Friday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off between Ghana and Nigeria.

CAF officials were at the stadium on Thursday to install the system in preparation for the first leg match.

This is the first time that VAR will be used in Ghana.

The Black Stars’ preparations for the game will be completed on Thursday afternoon with their final training session followed by a press conference.

Nigeria, who arrived in Kumasi earlier on Thursday, are scheduled to train at the Baba Yara Stadium at 7 p.m.

Despite being labelled as underdogs, the Black Stars are confident of defeating Nigeria and qualifying for the World Cup finals in Qatar.

They need a strong performance on Friday to secure a good result before the second leg next Tuesday.
