Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye on Thursday achieved victory in the election to represent women’s football on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council for the next four years.

She is the owner of Berry Ladies, and her candidacy received unanimous support from all twenty Women’s Premier League Clubs during the contest held at the Elective Congress in Tamale.

Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye’s remarkable win, with a perfect 20 out of 20 votes, will see her taking over as the representative of women’s football on the Executive Council, succeeding Madam Habiba Atta-Forson. The Executive Council holds a pivotal role in making critical decisions for Ghana’s football, and it is led by GFA President Kurt Okraku, who was also recently re-elected.

During her campaign in August, Oware Mensah pledged a strong commitment to advancing women’s football. She expressed her determination to advocate for the creation of more grassroots football competitions and football academies across Ghana to develop and showcase female talent from a young age.
