Asante Kotoko managed to halt their four-game losing streak with a hard-fought goalless draw against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Saturday.

With the team eager to bounce back following their atrocious form, the Hunters proved tough for the Porcupines to overcome as both teams held firm to claim a valuable point.

The draw see Asante Kotoko climb to seventh position in the Ghana Premier League, at least until the end of Sunday where most of the matches of round 24 will be played to determine their actual standing.

Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim played a crucial role, making several important saves to keep Kotoko’s hopes alive throughout the match.

Drama unfolded in the first half as the referee rescinded a penalty decision for the home team after consulting his assistant leaving the fans furious.

With results not meeting expectations, Ogum’s position remains under scrutiny, and calls for his dismissal are growing louder among fans.

Meanwhile,  Bechem United, are fifth on the table with 34 points having played a match less. They remain within striking distance of their season objective of securing a top-four finish.

Asante Kotoko’s winless streak in their last five attempts, including four consecutive losses, marks a concerning period for the club, with fans expressing discontent and urging for improvements.

Despite the challenges, there’s optimism among enthusiasts, given Ogum’s successful tenure previously, where he led the club to its first Premier League title in eight years.

Next up for Asante Kotoko is a crucial fixture against Nsoatreman at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, April 11, as they aim to secure their first win in six matches and revive their campaign.
