Cristiano Ronaldo finally got off the mark in the league for Juventus to bring his goalscoring drought to an end.  The 33-year-old had so far failed to find the net after the first three games of the Serie A season, but the Portuguese opened his account as Juventus hosted Sassuolo on Sunday afternoon. Ronaldo opened the scoring in Turin with his 28th attempt on goal since completing a £99m move from Real Madrid in the summer, pouncing on a defensive mix up to tap in from two yards out. 15 minutes later former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can teed-up Ronaldo to double his league tally for the season. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner broke his duck just days after Juventus manager Max Allegri backed him to find form against Sassuolo. “I believe that Cristiano deserves to win the FIFA World Player award, even if Modric has had a phenomenal year as well.”
