Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown was the receipt of the GUBA Nana Yaa Asnatewaa Entertainment Mogul Award 2021. And her acceptance speech has become the talk of the internet.
Standing poised and regal on stage in a glorious black and blue gown accentuated with feathers, Nana Ama McBrown gave touching insight into her journey. She told of how far she has come without any formal training in classrooms.
“Good evening. My mother, Ohemaa, a great source of courage, I greet you. I greet all women in this room. I am awestruck this evening. I don’t know what to say. I am very happy to be here this evening, and I am grateful for this honour. From where I came from, I never thought that I would be here.”
Nana Ama McBrown dedicated her award as an inspiration to people who have no degrees or certificates.
“Tonight, this honour is for all the young people who think that life is behind them. And that only education can get them far. I am an example of people who have no certificates to show what they are doing. I thank God for this talent. I thank Ghanaians for the support.”
