This signing comes nearly two months after the goalkeeper terminated his contract with Tanzanian football club, Azam FC.
Abalora played in Ghana’s 5-1 resounding victory over Qatar on Monday in his first game for the Black Stars.
He will return to Ghana later this week to join his new teammates in Koforidua, where the club is locked in pre-season training.
The former WAFA man will battle for a place at the club with Felix Annan and Kwame Baah, who manned the post for the most part of the truncated league season.
Kotoko are looking to build a formidable side that can win the Ghana Premier League and also impress on the continent.
