A former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Diana Hopeson, has deduced that veteran musician Akosua Adjepong’s constant rants against the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) is due to menopause.
Diana Hopeson, who is currently a board member of GHAMRO, believes that Akosua Adjepong’s attacks at the music right’s body are fuelled by sheer ignorance and old age.
For several years now, Akosua Adjepong has leveled series of allegations against GHAMRO.
The veteran musician has accused Rex Omar, Chairman of GHAMRO, as well as the board, of misappropriating funds meant for rights owners.
She later also alleged that Rex Omar even tried to kill her.
But Madam Hopeson, who has had enough of the rants, speaking in an interview on Showbiz 927 on 3FM with MzGee, responded that “Her issues with [GHAMRO]…sometimes it pains me. The last time I was saying honestly I think its menopause.”
“I respect her, I just love the way she dances, she’s good. If you go to a radio interview and they are interviewing you…you don’t know much about an institution, don’t say what you don’t know,” the GHAMRO Board member said.
