GFA set to announce new head coaches for four national teams

The Ghana Football Association is close to appointing new technical heads for some of the various national teams, with the biggest announcement being Charles Kwabla Akunnor as Black Stars head coach. The head coach positions in the national teams have been untenanted after the GFA dissolved the technical teams on January 2, 2020. 3Sports understands, after deliberations and considerations of the possible candidates for the positions, the GFA is set to name local coaches to fill the roles. That includes former Eleven Wise, Dreams FC, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach, C. K. Akunnor who will likely take on the Black Stars head coach position. Mercy Tagoe will resume her role as coach for the Black Queens while Yusif Basigi also takes over the U-20 Women’s team, the Black Princesses. Abdul Karim Zito will steer the Black Satellites from now, adding to his current job as head coach at Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League. There are still positions to be filled in Ghana’s U-23 men’s team, the U-17 women’s team and the men’s U-17 team and after these reported announcements, the GFA will likely go to work immendiately to find replacements.
