Black Galaxies head to Uyo for crucial CHAN qualifier against Nigeria

Ghana’s home-based national team, the Black Galaxies, have left for Uyo, Nigeria, ahead of their decisive second leg 2025 CHAN qualification match against the CHAN Eagles.

Following a goalless draw in the first leg, the team faces a critical away fixture at Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

The winner of this West African showdown will secure a spot in the 2025 CHAN tournament, scheduled to take place across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025.

This matchup is a repeat of the previous qualification campaign, where Ghana triumphed over Nigeria on penalties. The Black Galaxies are now aiming to replicate that success and secure consecutive qualifications at their rivals’ expense.

The CHAN tournament, exclusive to players competing in their domestic leagues, presents a valuable opportunity for home-based talents to shine on the continental stage.
