Aboubakar Ouattara: Hearts of oak boss admits poor performance against Kotoko

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that his team put up another disappointing performance after losing 2-0 to Kotoko on Sunday in Kumasi.

The Phobians suffered another defeat thanks courtesy of Steven Mukwala’s brace on Sunday which propelled Kotoko to back-to-back wins over their fiercest rivals.

The Phobians now have only two wins in their last nine league matches under Ouatarra, who continuously insists that a lot has to change to get the team back to the top again.

Aboubakar Ouattara stated in a post match interview that Hearts of Oak have been far from their best, and a lack of consistency and ability to kill off their chances showed why they fell yet again on Sunday afternoon.

That’s the reality of football. When you can’t score, you can’t play well, and you fail to take your chances. Kotoko were the better side, congratulations to them but we have played badly once again”, he said.

For a team that once dominated Africa over 20 years ago, Hearts of Oak now find themselves threatened by relegation for the second season on the bounce, as they now lie two points off the drop zone.
