Leader of the side of , Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has backed to become the next coach of Ghana.

The senior national team, is without a manager following the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac who supervised Ghana's worst Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cameroon last month.

3news.com understands that the () are working on appointing a new coach this month to lead the team in the crucial World Cup qualifiers in March.

President and other officials have travelled to Germany to convince Rajevac's first assistant Otto Addo to quit his role as assistant coach and accept the Black Stars job.

Meanwhile, London-born former Premier League manager Chris Hughton, on holiday in Ghana, has been linked with the job.

According to reports, GFA wants to appoint Otto Addo, however, Hughton has the backing of the government to lead the team.

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM was asked about the trending issue and he responded, “Chris Hughton is a coach who knows how to build with average materials and that's Ghana's situation now. Our materials are not good so we need Chris to weld. Otto Addo is just a second coach for Dortmund.”

Black Stars face in late March for a place in the 2022 to be staged in Qatar later this year.
