CAF issues life ban and other severe punishments to Ghanaian referees

The impact of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s exposé on Ghana Football is still being felt by major stakeholders of the local football, especially those that were compromised in the documentary. The latest of them are the referees. CAF has issued life ban to FIFA referee David Laryea while several others received ten-year suspension. The decision, revealed in a statement released by CAF on Sunday, August 5, 2018, was made by the Disciplinary Board of the Confederations of African Football following a meeting to decide the fate of the match officials who allowed themselves to be compromised by undercover jounalists who posed as club officials in the Ghana Premier League. This is one of the serious measures taken by CAF, following the damaging exposé by Anas in June. By Thierry Nyann|editors.3news.com|Ghana
