Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah says C.K Akunnor’s plan for the Black Stars is one that can help his career.
In an interview after training in Antalya in Turkey, Mensah said Akunnor’s hands-on approach to coaching is great for the team.
The new Besiktas man has not received a call-up since 2015 and has high hopes of becoming a mainstay in the Stars’ set-up by impressing in the games against Mali and Qatar.
“He is a new coach, CK Akunnor and it means a lot to me that I have been called up because he has seen what I did in my previous teams in Kasim Pasa, Kayserispor and now at Besiktas.
“So, I will say it is a big chance for me because he is the type of player I am and that’s why he has given me this opportunity to be here.
“He is the coach who shows you how he wants you to play on the pitch and it makes a very big difference because he is telling you what to do and how he wants to play. So I am grateful to be here today. All the help is perfect for me,” Mensah told the FA’s official media envoy.
