My salary has been ‘paid in full’ – Barca defender Kounde replies Chelsea fan

French international Jules Kounde insists that his Barcelona salary has been paid in full in a Twitter response to a Chelsea fan.
Kounde turned down a move to Chelsea earlier this summer to join the Catalan giants, signing a five-year contract despite the fact that Barcelona is facing financial difficulties.
Chelsea and Sevilla had agreed on a fee for the defender, but Kounde was told to wait for Barcelona to raise the funds required to complete the deal, and the situation remained complicated even then.
Barcelona were unable to register the 23-year-old for the first two games of the season due to exceeding the salary cap limit of the Spanish League.
They found a way 48 hours before the deadline, and the Frenchman has since made five appearances across all competitions, recording two assists.
Responding to a question on his salary with Barca’s money problems in mind, the player tweeted: “Salary has been paid in full, thanks for your concern.”
