Lyon eye Ajax target Ernest Nuamah

FC Nordsjaelland winger Ernest Nuamah is on the verge of switching clubs as Olympic Lyon intensify negotiations in a bid to purchase the talented youngster.

Following his brilliant performances from last season, the 19-year-old has been on the radar of several clubs in the elite European leagues including Paris Saint-German, Ajax Amsterdam, and Tottenham Hotspurs.

However, reports of a potential move to the French Ligue 1 are gaining weight as Nuamah missed his team’s recent match against Silkeborg in the Danish Superliga.

The sporting director of FC Nordsjaelland Jan Laursen, explained the player’s absence confirming multiple interests from clubs.

“As September 1 approaches, more and more things happen. There is a lot of interest in many of our talented young players,” Jan Laursen told Viaplay.

“There are things that have become more and more interesting, and where it makes sense that he is allowed to breathe.

“In addition, he has also been busy on the field, so it is a combination of the two things that meant that he is not in the squad today.

“I think you know the answer. I can confirm that I can not confirm anything. The French media are all about themselves, so it’s a bit exciting to read L’Equipe at the moment.”

Despite remaining tight-lipped on the reports suggesting the Ghanaian sensation’s move to  French Ligue 1, it is believed that Nuamah is close to making a move soon with personal terms left to be agreed upon.

The recent Right to Dream Academy graduate has already tallied four goals for the Danish powerhouses this season, and he has been recognised for his excellent work.

He received the Young Player of the Year award at the end of last season while players and coaches also unanimously selected Nuamah as the best player in the Denmark Superliga for the 2022/23 campaign.

Nuamah was also named as the one of the young 100 players to battle for the 2023 Golden Boy Award.
