Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has confirmed talks with Asante Kotoko over becoming the club’s next coach following the dismissal of Burkinabe Seydou Zerbo due to poor form.

Kotoko are looking for an experienced hand to turn their season around, and Appiah, who coached Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has revealed that talks have taken place.

However, he has asked the club to hold off on any decision because he was also studying other offers on the table.

“For the past months, I have held talks with Kotoko but I told them to hold on because I received two offers but let us see what happens,” he told Pure FM.

“I played Asante Kotoko for years and I have been in and out of the club. If there is any assistance I am willing to do that,” he added.

Appiah, who applied for the Black Stars job early this year, has also been linked with Tanzanian side Simba SC.

Appiah, a former Kotoko captain, won seven league titles and the African Champions League in 1982 during his playing career.
