Asante Kotoko assistant coach, David Ocloo, has expressed his belief that the team’s 3-2 victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday will be a turning point for their season.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled with form at the beginning of the season, but their recent streak of four consecutive wins, including the triumph over their main rivals, has closed the gap at the top to four points.

Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala scored for Kotoko after Isaac Opong’s superb had cancelled out Linda Mtange’s opener for the Phobians. Martin Karikari scored a late consolation for Hearts.

Ocloo attributed the team’s success to their consistent performance and the support of their fans. “We’ve been performing and we are keeping the consistency and I would like to thank the fans for their support, we are grateful,” he said after the game.

The assistant coach also highlighted the importance of adaptability in football, stating that teams need to constantly evolve to achieve success. “Gone are the days. Football is dynamic and it keeps changing,” he added.

With the victory over Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko appears to have found their rhythm at the right time, and Ocloo believes that this momentum will carry them through to the title.

“It’s all about consistency. You can see we have been playing the same thing for some time now and we are getting the results. I think this will lift us up for the title,” he said.
