Great Olympics’ Japanese forward Jindo Morishita has expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of playing time under coach Bismarck Kobby Mensah.

Despite joining the team at the end of January, Morishita has struggled to break into the team and has only made one start in their defeat against Medeama SC.

The 27-year-old revealed his frustration with not being able to deliver value on the pitch due to his lack of playing time.

“As a player, you always want to deliver value on the pitch and if you are not given enough time, it is always frustrating,” said Morishita to Citi FM.

“It is not always about myself. It is about the team first, so I respect the coach. I trust him, and I am always preparing myself to be ready when called upon. I always want to deliver a good performance in front of my Japanese family and the Olympic fans in general.”

Morishita was not named in the matchday squad that secured Great Olympics’ first win after six games against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday. However, he will be hoping to win the coach’s favour when the team takes on league leaders Aduana Stars after the Easter break.
