Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel says he is amazed by Arsenal’s level of consistency and development over the past few seasons despite eliminating the Gunners 3-2 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night

Arsenal after a six-year absence from the competition made it to the quarter-finals only to be eliminated by the Bavarians who are poised for a silverware after missing out on domestic competitions.

However, the Gunners slipped on the standings in the league last weekend with a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa before seeing themselves knocked out by Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Speaking to the press about the game, Thomas Tuchel expressed his admiration for Arsenal’s style of play and personality, believing the Gunners are an elite side with so much potential and dynamism.

“I know that maybe Mikel might not want to hear this, but for me they are there. If you watch Arsenal games in the last two seasons. It’s a consistency of attacking football, scoring goals and not conceding goals. It’s fun to watch. It’s every match, something to learn, it’s so fluid. It’s so impressive.. for me, they are an elite team”, he said.

Now that Arsenal have been knocked out of the Champions League, their focus will be on straining for the Premier League title, in order to end their season with silverware.

It’s been seven years since Arsenal played in the knockout round, and despite the result, the Gunners can be hopeful of further heights in Europe’s premium club competition in the coming years.
