Former Mali and Sevilla striker Frederic Kanoute believes that Ghana star Mohammed Kudus possesses the qualities necessary to win the African Player of the Year award.
Kudus has been enjoying a remarkable season in both the English Premier League and European competitions with West Ham United.
Aside from his impressive performances at the club level, the 23-year-old has been a key figure in Ghana’s national team. Throughout the Africa Cup of Nations, Kudus stood out as Ghana’s top performer, earning two Man of the Match awards for his contributions as an attacking midfielder for the Black Stars
Kanoute, who won the 2007 Africa Talent of the Year award, believes Kudus has a bright future ahead of him and calls him an exciting talent.
“He is incredibly gifted. He is strong, has all the tools needed to be a forward, and can play a variety of positions. He is still relatively young, and in my opinion, one of the most intriguing African players of the present day. Thus, in my opinion, he has a chance with me,” Kanoute stated on the Irons Podcast.

Kudus has already become a fan favourite in West London for his contribution already becoming the Ghanain with most goals for the club. Additionally, his superb solo goal in the Europa League won the West Ham Goal of the Month award for March.
Before joining Tottenham in 2003, the retired Malian football player played for three seasons with West Ham, where he scored 27 goals in 76 games.
