West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus expressed no surprise at Jarrod Bowen’s hat-trick, which played a pivotal role in the team’s crucial 4-2 victory against Brentford on Monday.

The win marked West Ham’s first Premier League victory in 2024 after a series of eight winless games.

Kudus contributed to the success by providing an assist for Bowen’s impressive hat-trick, helping the Hammers climb to eighth place in the Premier League standings.

While praising his teammates after the victory, Kudus said “I’m not surprised [about Jarrod Bowen’s hat-trick], more is coming.

He emphasised the significance of the victory as they prepare for their next trip to Everton.

“We needed it. The past games have been very difficult, but it was good to get the reaction and the win in front of the fans. We keep building on it and focus on the next game.

“I think [the two goals in seven minutes] showed how hungry we as players are for the goals because that is what we are supposed to do.

“I think we wanted it more and you could see that from the start of the game as we got the goals quickly and there was an energy and determination of how much we wanted to win today. It was good to get the three points.”

The Black Stars forward has now made eight goal contributions in the Premier League scoring six goals, and providing two assists since arriving in the summer from Ajax Amsterdam.
