Ameenu Shardow, the General Manager of Dreams FC, has expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to progress to the semi-finals of the 2023-24 CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking in an interview on TV3’s NewDay sports segment, Shardow emphasised the importance of support from fans and sponsors in helping the team achieve success in the competition.

Shardow’s comments came after the draw for the quarterfinals, which saw Dreams FC paired against Malian giants, Stade Malien de Bamako.

The first leg of the tie is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Stade Mars 26 in Mali, while the second leg will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

As the first Ghanaian club to reach the knockout round of the Confederation Cup since 2004, Dreams FC have already made history, and are confident of beating the Malians.

“I am very confident, and I like the fact that people are beginning to recognize the effort we are making and supporting us in diverse ways,” he said.

“If the support we are getting can be translated to the venue, I know and I am very confident that we will qualify for the semi-final.”
