Document: Anas' petition to FIFA seeking life ban for Kwesi Nyantakyi

Mr. Nyantakyi is being investigated for defrauding by false pretence
Mr. Nyantakyi is alleged to have used the name of the President and other government officials to take bribes
Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, among other things in his petition to FIFA, wants a life ban placed on former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, barring him from any football related activity. The petition by his counsel Kissi Agyebeng, Managing Partner of Cromwell Gray LLP, dated June 4, 2018 said Mr. Anas would be willing to testify in person but anonymously with his face covered. Mr. Nyantakyi who is also a member of the FIFA Council  has been implicated in an investigative documentary into corruption in football administration in Ghana and other parts of Africa. “Mr. Nyantakyi breached article 21.1 by receiving cash; arranging to receive money; offering money and percentage cuts to the supposed Dr. Marzuq A. Albadawir in respect of the sponsorship of the Ghana Premier League; and demanding money for himself and political authorities in Ghana to obtain or retain government contracts, thereby gaining an improper advantage,” the petitioner said. “We deem Mr. Nyantakyi’s conduct to be highly unethical and damaging to the integrity and reputation of football,” the petition stated in part. “We submit that Mr. Nyantakyi should, as a consequence, be banned for life from taking part in any football related activity in pursuance of article 6.h of the FIFA Code of Ethics.” The petition therefore included audio/visual/transcript recording of meeting with Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi on 6 October 2017 at Jood Palace Hotel, Dubai. They also added a hand drafted memorandum of understanding by the embattled football administrator for Namax Ghana Limited, the deal broker, which he was using to secure sponsorship for Ghana Premier League. Meanwhile, Mr. Nyantakyi, who has resigned as the GFA boss, has been banned by FIFA from any football related activity for 90 days pending investigations his alleged corrupt actions as contained Anas’ petition.
