Kenya’s Harambee Stars have opened a three-point lead in Group F of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying after beating Ethiopia 3-0 on Sunday. The Stars had clinched a point from the Walias last Thursday to move above Ghana in the group. The week’s result saw Ethiopia also leapfrog Ghana to second in the group. At the Kasarani stadium on Sunday, goals from Michael Olunga, Eric Johana Omondi and Victor Wanyama ensured that the Kenyans left their contenders in their trail. They now have seven points at the top with Ethiopia second on four points. West Africans Ghana and Sierra Leone are on three points each though they have played two games less. It is still unclear whether the Leone Stars will still be in the competition after FIFA banned them from international competitions. Ethiopia and Ghana will face off next month in Addis Ababa.
