The process of vetting applicants for the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) Elections commenced on Monday.
The initial round of vetting featured presidential aspirants, including the incumbent Kurt Okraku and challenger George Afriyie.
Kurt Okraku’s vetting session kicked off at 11:00 am, setting the stage for a closely watched evaluation. Subsequently, George Afriyie, a former GFA Vice President who aspires to unseat Okraku, underwent his vetting process.
Vetting will continue on Tuesday, August 21, at the same venue, Alisa Hotel in Accra. This round will encompass all applicants contending for positions on the Executive Council. Notable figures vying for these roles include former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, Randy Abbey, and former sports journalist Elloeny Amande.
The final day of vetting is slated for Wednesday, during which applicants seeking positions in the Regional Football Associations will undergo scrutiny.
The vetting process is a critical step in the run-up to the GFA Elections, which will determine the Ghana Football Association’s leadership and composition.
The Elections Committee’s decisions will be made public on Monday, August 28, before the Elective Congress on September 27 in Tamale.
