Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Moses Osei Kwarteng, who is better known as Moses OK, has said that most old musicians could not move their songs to digital music stores early enough and that got them robbed by not gaining any money off their music through that media.
Speaking about this in an interview he granted with Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360 with Tony Best on Saturday, October 14, the musician said that a few years ago when distributing music had changed in almost every part of the world, Ghana not an exception, some old musicians – whom he is a part of – had no idea how to go about the new phase that music had taken.
“At a point the music ministry had taken another phase where most of my colleagues had to migrate their songs to the digital platforms, and for some of us while the time was ticking, we didn’t prepare for it and moreover we didn’t even have much knowledge about it.
“Normally back in the days, we will send our cassettes to distributors and marketers at Kejetia and Kantamanto and probably send promotional copies to the few radio stations we had back then.
“In fact, it was just recently that I found out that one needs to sign up with a recognized music distribution company that will distribute your songs on digital stores,” Moses OK said.
The artiste is currently promoting two singles this year, Ene Me Nko and Asesa.
