Ghanaian movie star and TV Host, Joselyn Canfor Dumas has spoken against a viral video of a senior student of the University of Professional Studies, Accra beating up a younger colleague.

Reports gathered indicate that a female student of the University who was identified as Priscilla took matters into her own hands by whipping a junior student for peddling rumours about her having an affair with a lecturer.

The event which took place last night has sent shockwaves all over the Internet and the host who doubles as an activist has added her two cents to the trending debate.

According to Dumas, 42, the action was unlawful and University Authorities had a responsibility to bring the perpetrator to book

This soo wrong ??. What is @upsaccra doing about this ? For someone to bring their child to your institution and have a senior lash them for what reason! #UPSA needs to call her to order. I hope they do. Wow!” she tweeted

Other celebrities including Lydia Forson and Sound Engineer, Da Hammer also reacted to the video.

Hammer tweeted, “Lashing your colleague has to be the ultimate disrespect damnnn #UPSA

“This is why they will always send military to come and beat you all, because you’re convinced violence is the only way to make you act right. Every school has appropriate methods of dealing with cases, and I doubt lashes are part,” Lydia Forson said in reaction to a Tweep who supported the barbaric act.

Authorities of the University and the Student’s Representative Council are yet to issue a statement on the matter.
