Ghanaian media personality and philanthropist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has spoken out about the distressing attacks she has received in response to rumours surrounding her marriage.

In an interview on Joy Prime, Anti shed light on the subject, discussing the impact these false claims have had on her life.

During the conversation, which was held ahead of the unveiling of her book ‘When Strong Women Cry’, the host asked Anti about her marital status, questioning whether she and her husband were separated.

Anti, laughing off the rumours, replied, “Should I call him for you? We have decided to talk at the appropriate time. It’s not the first time this has happened and obviously, I am the target. The people talking about me do not know me. They don’t know anything about me. So, what should I do? Go around telling everybody about it? I stay focused because these things can derail me. I am hurt, and disappointed.”

Despite the challenges she has faced, Anti remains resolute in her beliefs. As a gender advocate and activist, she has been persecuted on numerous occasions, but she reminds herself that these struggles are part of the journey.

“It is difficult to really speak your truth these days, especially with all the attacks going on and because you are a strong woman and a feminist,” she said. “This journey we are on, if you are not careful, you will be fighting and saving the world while you will be in a mess. In my book, there is a story of a woman who is saving the world but meanwhile, there is pain. This woman became diagnosed with depression because she was out there saving people.”

Earlier in April, unverified information was carried by sections of the media online alleged that the seasoned broadcaster had kicked out her husband, Nana Ansah Kwao IV, Chief of Akwamu Adumasa from their matrimonial home and the pair had since separated.

People on social media have applauded Anti’s bravery in speaking out about her experiences and attacks continue to be levelled against her, describing it as a reminder of the importance of remaining true to oneself in the face of adversity.

The former GTV presented shocked Ghanaians when she tied the knot at a beautiful marriage ceremony that took place at the Trinity Baptist Church on October 15 2015. The marriage is blessed with a daughter who was born on August 11, 2017
