The Majority Leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin has asked all government officials to make it a priority to listen to the Johnnie’s Bite segment on 3FM which takes place every morning, Monday to Friday, where the host Johnnie Hughes, without mincing words, speaks against the ills of society.

In his view, this segment is good for the government, because the actual concerns of the people are highlighted on that show.

Mr Afenyo-Markin said this while making the point that it is important for ministers of state, Members of Parliament, and all other government officials to listen to concerns of the governed.

He says it is only when they listen that they will get to know about the concerns of the people and address them accordingly.

Speaking in an interview with TV3’s Berla Mundi on the New Day show on Thursday, February 29, Afenyo-Markin said “As MPs, as ministers, as government officials, what it is for us is that we must touch base.

“That is why I said that your critique, Johnnie’s Bite is good for us because if people will listen in government, then you begin to sit up because it is not who you think you are as a leader but what the people think you are.

“So, it’s about the people, if you are not doing it right, your job is to situate it right and get it right.”
