The Majority Leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said it is important for ministers of state, Members of Parliament, and all other government officials to listen to the concerns of the governed.

He says it is only when they listen that the actual concerns of the people will be noted and addressed accordingly.

To that end, the Effutu lawmaker praised the Johnnie’s Bite segment on TV3/3FM which takes place every morning, Monday to Friday, where the host Johnnie Hughes, without mincing words, speaks on the ills of society.

Speaking in an interview with TV3’s Berla Mundi on the New Day show on Thursday, February 29, Afenyo-Markin said “As MPs, as ministers, as government officials, what it is for us is that we must touch base.

“That is why I said that your critique, Johnnie’s Bite is good for us because if people will listen in government, then you begin to sit up because it is not who you think you are as a leader but what the people think you are.

“So, it’s about the people, if you are not doing it right, your job is to situate it right and get it right.”
