An attempt by Prempeh College to reach the finals of the 2023 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) was futile after they were defeated by their Kumasi rivals Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS).
OWASS qualified for the final during the semi-finals of the competition on Thursday, October 18 with 38 points.
“At the end of the contest Prepmeh College has 36 points, Pope John has 36 and Opoku Ware School has 38,” the Quiz Mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufman, said.
She added “Prempeh College, thanks for being here this is where we say goodbye.
“Pope John thank you for being here, you put in your best, unfortunately, it is the end of the road for 2023.
“Opoku Ware congratulations on winning the contest. That was a lot of determination, well done.”
