Mahama to address UN General Assembly

President John Mahama will this afternoon take his turn to address the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 This year’s session which is on theme, ‘The United Nations at 70: the road ahead for peace, security and human rights’ opened on Monday.

President Mahama has in addition to participating in the General Assembly debates, held a number of bilateral meetings.

He joined US President Barack Obama and other heads of state at a Leaders’ Summit on Peacekeeping on the sidelines, where he pledged Ghana’s further commitment to international peacekeeping operations.

The President’s address will be broadcast live on Ghana Television and Radio Ghana, as well as via webcast on www.presidency.gov.gh.
