E/R: GITFiC, VRA distribute 1,000 copies of AfCFTA book to 13 SHSs

The Volta River Authority has partnered with the Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference (GITFiC) to distribute about 1,000 copies of the latter’s book on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The VRA, after several correspondence, acquired and took delivery of the copies of in its quest to support GITFiC’s National and Continental Sensitization and Education of the AfCFTA through the Ghanaian education system.

It is to also mark the Authority’s 60th anniversary.

The distribution on Wednesday, June 14 at VRA’s premises in Akuse in the Eastern Region saw Director of Finance at VRA Paul Seniagya, Manager for Corporate Communications and Branding at VRA Madam Tandy Chothia, the Director of the Ghana Education Service in the  Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Samuel Tettey,  and the Director of Research, Policy and Advocacy at GITFiC, Gerald Ekow Woode.

The schools include Adgyena Senior High Technical Schools, Anum Presby Senior High School, Akwamuman Senior High School, Boso Senior High School, Apeguso Senior High School, Krobo Girls Senior High School, Akro Senior High Technical School, Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School, Manya Krobo Senior High School, Yilo Krobo Senior High School, Klo-Agogo Senior High School, Asesewa Senior High School, Akosombo International School.

“The books will be kept in the libraries of each school for rotational reading by all students,” GITFiC said in a press release on Thursday, June 22.

“GITFiC remains steadfast in the pursuit of this endeavor as a supporting mechanism to the AfCFTA,” the release signed by Chief Executive Officer Selasi Koffi Ackom concluded.
