Asante Kotoko picked their first three points in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 win over ZESCO United on Wednesday. The match, played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, was the second Group C game for the two giants. Two first half goals by Kwame Bonsu and Emmanuel Gyamfi put the Porcupine Warriors in cruising control until a second half consolation by Ghanaian Rahim Osmanu. The Zambians had missed a penalty in the first half, however. Goalkeeper Felix Annan, who saved the penalty, also made smashing saves to keep the visitors at bay, on one occasion punching the ball over the bar after a glancing header from the Zambains. The win opens up Group C as Nkana FC also beat Sudan’s Al Hilal in Zambia earlier in the day. The results put all four sides on three points each. Kotoko will be travelling to Nkana FC for their next encounter. Source: editors.3news.com|Ghana
