The Grand lodge Ghana has donated Seventy Thousand Cedis and raincoats valued at ten Thousand Cedis to the TV3 June 3 Disaster Support Fund.
The donation and the relief items, which is the highest so far, is to assist victims of the twin fire and flood disaster, which claimed 154 lives.
In a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Augustus Dickson , and managers of the fund, the Head of Communications for TV3, Nicholina Annor-Adjei, explained that the distribution is made in collaboration with NADMO and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, AMA.
The President, Grand Lodge Ghana, Dr. Nortey Omaboe, say the society’s assistance goes beyond its members.
“The charitable activities of the Grand Lodge of Ghana are not restricted to our members alone. It encompasses all within our society here in Ghana. We conducted some form of an overview and we set a few priorities and parameters and the TV3 Fund appeared to us as one that was worthy of our contribution”
They masonry outlined their activities which involved caring for the underprivileged and were hopeful the gesture would alleviate the pain of persons affected by the flood and fire disaster.
On June 23, the Freemasons of the District Grand Lodge of Ghana, English Constitution, also donated a cheque for GH¢25,000 to the June 3 disaster support fund.
Several other companies and individuals have also donated generously towards the TV3 June 3 Disaster Support Fund. The fund seeks to support displaced and injured survivors as well as relatives of those who were killed by the Goil Fuel station fire and the floods.

The fund is targeting an amount of Ghc10 million not only to offer support to injured, bereaved and displaced persons but also to carry out a vigorous campaign on causes of flooding and the role of the citizenry.
Corporate organizations and individuals are expected to make their donations into Unibank Account Number 2110121963814, World Trade Center Branch, Accra.
Donations can also be made through Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) account number 000250100039781. This can be done at all of the bank’s branches. Mobile phone users can also text HELP to 1744, across all networks.
