GPL: 14 clubs battle to end first round on a high

All but two clubs will be involved in matches on Sunday, May 14 to end the first round of this season’s Ghana Premier League. League leaders West African Football Academy (WAFA) beat Inter Allies 2-0 at home on Saturday to end their best ever first round in the top-flight league. The rest will take their turn as the 2016/2017 season takes the bend on Sunday. At Elmina in the Central Region, debutants Elmina Sharks will welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to the Nduom Stadium in what promises to be one of the who-gets-the-bragging-rights games in Ghana. Another debutant side Bolgatanga All Stars will also play in Tamale at the Utrecht Park as they welcome Medeama SC. At the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park, Liberty Professionals will welcome Hearts of Oak in the all-Greater Accra Region affair. An all-Brong Ahafo Region affair will also be witnessed in Bechem, where Aduana Stars, who are chasing leaders WAFA, will be travelling to to play Bechem United. Former champions Berekum Chelsea will host Great Olympics in Berekum while Obuasi‘s Len Clay Stadium hosts the AshGold SC-Wa All Stars game. At the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko will host Tema Youth. Source: editors.3news.com|Ghana
