Achimota School GUNSA donates to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

The Achimota School branch of the Ghana United Nations Students and Youth Association (GUNSA) has donated an amount of GHC 2,000 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Korle Bu teaching Hospital in Accra. The donation is part of a Yearly Project Scheme by the Achimota School branch to impact the society. Speaking at a brief ceremony at the Hospital, the President of the local President of GUNSA at Achimota School, Master Dela Denoo said he and his colleague students were touched by the work of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to save lives of babies. He commended medical personnel at the Unit for good work done over the years. The Matron of the Unit, Madam Rejoice Abiwu was grateful for the gesture and commended GUNSA for helping shape the future leaders of the country through its educative programmes and activities. Present at the ceremony were National President of GUNSA, Mr Kwashie Klu-Duvor; General Secretary, Mr Emmanuel J.K Arthur and Mr Eric Eghan and Mr Eric Manu, both Patrons of GUNSA at Achimota School. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is under the Department of Child Health of the Korele Bu Teaching Hospital and provides a specialised support for newly born babies with a capacity to incubate close to 100 babies.
