TikTok pledges partnership with Ghana on digital inclusion & online safety

A delegation from TikTok, led by Tokunbo Ibrahim, Government Relations and Public Policy Lead for West Africa, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP).
The visit aimed to congratulate the Minister on his recent appointment, discuss the Ministry’s strategic priorities, and explore avenues for future collaboration.
During the productive meeting, Ms. Ibrahim provided key updates on TikTok’s recent initiatives, highlighting the newly launched STEM feed.
This innovative feature is a dedicated space within the platform for educational and inspiring videos across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, demonstrating TikTok’s commitment to promoting valuable content.

A significant part of the discussion focused on user safety and the fight against misinformation. Ms. Ibrahim strongly reaffirmed TikTok’s dedication to ensuring the safety of its Ghanaian community.
She emphasized the platform’s zero-tolerance policy towards harmful misinformation and committed to working closely with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) on these critical efforts.
