Western Region Minister denies asking MMDAs for funds for father’s funeral

The Western Region Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has vehemently denied instructing any Metropolitan, Municipal or District Chief Executive to make any payment in support of the final funeral rites of his father.
His denial comes on the heels of a letter purportedly from the Western Region Coordinating Council and signed by the Chief Director which had asked MMDCES to make various cash donations to support the funeral of the father of the regional minister.
In all, the 14 assemblies together will pay a total of forty-nine thousand cedis [Ghc 49, 000. 00]
But a terse press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Western Region Coordinating Council Charles Cobbinah and copied to ConnectNews entreated the general public to dismiss the said letter as fake.
“…disregard and consider as not true any such information as the purported letter did not have the seal of the Regional Coordinating Council.
