We’re looking at increasing transport fares by 15% – GPRTU

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has said they are looking at increasing transport fares by 15 per cent.
The Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU Alhaji Abass Imoro who said this on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, June 25 said they are waiting to reach an agreement with the Ministry of Transport before announcing the increment.
“We are looking at increasing the transport fares by 15 percent,” he said.
He added ” We are waiting on the transport ministry so that we reach a consensus.”
Transport operators have been complaining about the rising cost of fuel in the country.
The GPRTU said the high fuel prices are affecting their businesses hence the decision to review transport fares upward.
