The family of Dr Aya Hayfron, who died on Monday when her car was washed away by floodwaters after a downpour in the national capital, Accra, have called on the media to exercise some level of circumspection in reporting about her death.

The late Dr. Hayfron’s body was found on Wednesday morning by some local fishermen in the Kpeshie Lagoon, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) confirmed.

“The family wish to officially communicate that the body of the late Dr Aya Hayfron has been found. They wish to thank all those who assisted in the search process,” a statement from a representative of the family said on Wednesday evening.

Her body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue.
