[Video] AMA blames political interference for its inability to enforce sanitation bylaws

It’s been four years since President Akufo-Addo promised to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa. Since then, a lot of investments have been made in the sanitation sector to pursue that agenda, one many describe as ambitious.

But stakeholders say not much has been achieved. Some blame in on political interference in the work of Metropolitan Municipal District Assemblies (MMDAs).

In Media General’s series on sanitation, Komla Adom reports assembly officials say amendment of sanitation bylaws to make them more punitive could be the starting point.
